Emerald van ’t Ruytershof . De voshengst met zijn gouden manen, 4 witte benen en witte vlek onder zijn buik is ontegensprekelijk een opvallende verschijning… zijn charisma en eindeloos talent en vermogen, zijn winnaarsmentaliteit en bovenal zijn inzet en vriendelijk karakter maken van hem niet alleen de favoriet van iedereen op stal maar ook een absolute publiekslieveling… Hij heeft de aangeboren X-factor en groeide door de jaren uit tot een echte superster onder de springpaarden.

PALMARES:
Het succesverhaal van Emerald en zijn vaste ruiter Harrie Smolders begon in 2010, toen ze reservekampioen werden op het WK voor jonge paarden in Zangersheide, Emerald was toen 6.
Hierna volgden talloze overwinningen op het hoogste niveau, met in 2013 winst in de Nations Cup in Aken én Gijon, in 2015 wonnen ze de Nations Cup in Falsterbo en de Werelbeker manche in Washington… In de Wereldbeker finale in Gothenburg van 2016 werden ze 2de, waarna ze deelnamen aan de Olympische Spelen in Rio en de Nations Cup in Rotterdam wonnen.
In 2017 was er de winst in de GP van Chantilly, en een 2de plaats in de GP van Versailles, en het volgende jaar nog winst in de GP van Bordeaux en een 2de plaats in de GP van Cannes.
Na zijn schitterende carrière ging Emerald begin 2019 op pensioen, om vanaf dan de volledige focus op de fokkerij te richten. Door zijn indrukwekkende palmares en kwaliteiten als hengst, en zijn vele succesvolle nakomelingen is Emerald terecht een van de absolute topfavorieten bij de fokkers.

VADER: Diamant de Semilly is de vader van deze magnifieke hengst. Diamant de Semilly was zelf een uitzonderlijk springpaard en is een bewezen vader! Diamant, geboren in 1991 uit Le Tot de Semilly, won teamgoud op het Wereldkampioenschap in 2002 in Jerez de la Frontera en een individuele 9e plaats in de finale, 2002 teamgoud, 2003 team zilver Europees kampioenschap in Donaueschingen.

MOEDER: Emerald's moeder is Carthina Z (v.Carthago x Lys de Darmen). Ze is ook de moeder van Diamanthina van de Ruytershof (Diamant de Semilly) die op het hoogste niveau succesvol was met Constant van Paesschen. Ze is ook de moeder van de veelbelovende jonge Belgische goedgekeurde hengst Nixon van 't Meulenhof (Denzel van' t Meulenhof).

NAKOMELINGEN: Verschillende Emerald-nakomelingen presteren intussen succesvol op het hoogste niveau… zijn zoon Igor is zeker een van de meest in het oog springende talenten van het moment. Samen met Jos Verlooy won hij in 2019 Goud op het EK in Rotterdam voor het Belgisch team, evenals individueel Brons, werden ze 2de in de Longines World Cup in Toronto, en werd hij door Landbouwleven verdiend bekroond met de “Paard Van Het Jaar” award na zijn fenomenaal seizoen.
